Data Storage & Transmission

All settings and data are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. Drift does not send your personal information or stored data to any server. When you use certain features, Drift makes limited API requests to provide functionality (see Third-Party Services below). These requests contain only the data necessary to fulfill their function — such as coordinates for weather or a domain name for a favicon — and no personal identifiers or stored settings are included.

Third-Party Services

Drift connects to the following external services to provide its features:

No personal data is sent to these services. Weather requests include only coordinates (auto-detect) or city name (manual entry).

Drift also accesses https://open.spotify.com/* to read now-playing data from the Spotify Web Player for the Media Player widget.

Content Scripts

Click Spark and Dark Mode are disabled by default and only activate when you explicitly enable them in settings.
